Resumen

As the European Union (EU) and Africa work together to strengthen their partnership, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) can play a crucial role in achieving this goal. By leveraging AI, both regions can deepen their connection, foster greater institutional cooperation, and promote regional integration. AI can facilitate the development of a digital single market between the EU and Africa, ease the movement of digital goods, services, and talent across regions, and foster greater economic integration. The use of AI in the EU-Africa partnership can also address various challenges, including climate change, public health and food security. Moreover, AI can serve as a critical enabler for optimizing trade flows, fostering innovation and supporting sustainable development, thereby reinforcing economic integration efforts between the two regions. By developing harmonized frameworks for AI governance, both regions can ensure ethical deployment, data protection and cybersecurity, ultimately contributing to a more cohesive and resilient partnership.
